I think that Raphael Hertzog from Debian has already done an OpenID plugin for gforge. It is just unpublished...

I had a look in the gforge svn. there is no such functionality in gforge at the moment. however gf has a plugin system to handle authentication + indetification.
For example gforge/plugins/ldapextauth (in the svn) is the plugin that handles ldap auth+identification. It's written in perl.

writing a openid plugin should not be too difficult. There are a number of libraries available :
