Annoying prompt to save abbreviations when quitting Emacs after installing tuareg

Detailed description
I'm trying to automate installing several Emacs packages, but tuareg is prompting to save abbreviations when I tell Emacs to quit.

As a workaround, I can (setq save-abbrevs nil) before attempting to install tuareg, but I would prefer that tuareg behave more silently out of the box.

System:

* Latest cask
* Emacs 24
* Ubuntu Precise 12.04 and Mac OS X 10.9.1 Mavericks
