planet.ocamlcore.org is deprecated

Sylvain Le Gall - 2016-09-09 19:35 - Site Admin

As announced a month ago [1], I intend to stop running the planet in the next few hours. The website http://planet.ocamlcore.org will redirect to the new planet. If you had problem reading the old planet, you should switch to the new one.

Sylvain Le Gall - 2016-09-04 13:26 - Site Admin

TL;DR I have changed the SSH port to reduce the noise of SSH attacks.

planet.ocamlcore.org will soon be deprecated

Sylvain Le Gall - 2016-08-12 07:26 - Site Admin

For the past 8 years the OCaml Planet was running on http://planet.ocamlcore.org. A few years ago, another planet has forked and it is now better maintained than the old one. This new planet is located here http://ocaml.org/community/planet/ and the old planet will soon redirect to this new location.

forge.ocamlcore.org NOT reported as unsafe anymore

Sylvain Le Gall - 2016-03-29 09:55 - Site Admin

Thanks to the help of E. Török and the Google Webmaster Tools we were able to spot the problem and remove what appears to the search engines as a virus. We are now indexed again on Google and not reported anymore as containing malicious content.

forge.ocamlcore.org reported as unsafe in Firefox/Chrome

Sylvain Le Gall - 2016-03-27 10:12 - Site Admin

The website is actually reported as containing malicious links. I noticed that some spambots were uploading content as bug attachment and I need to track all that and clean the website.

Spam problem, lot of mails cannot be sent

Sylvain Le Gall - 2015-06-11 11:37 - Site Admin

I recently got an alert that the forge server was sending a lot of spam. After inspection it turns out that there is a positive feedback loop in between sending mail requests to moderate spam on mailing list and ending up being considered as a spammer (i.e. you ask to moderate a message "Sell Ur Gold For Mo$$ney" every day and after a few day the forge is considered as a spammer).

Migration starting this evening, bzr disabled for now

Sylvain Le Gall - 2014-10-28 09:48 - Site Admin

Unfortunately the forge keeps rebooting. I suspect that it cannot hold the usual "bot" traffic with the amount of memory it has or one of the hard drive is failing.

Sylvain Le Gall - 2014-10-23 22:53 - Site Admin

Earlier today, I was connected while the Forge was under heavy load. This has often been the case before most of the recent reboot.

OCaml Forge maintenance

Sylvain Le Gall - 2014-10-15 06:58 - Site Admin

Recently the OCaml forge has required a lot of hardware reboots. The server is probably near end of life and I need to upgrade the whole infrastructure to a recent server.
